I wrote a blog for Matt Fradd’s ministry on how a “New ‘Brock Turner Rule’ Doesn’t Go Far Enough.”
Here’s a sampling of it:
Too much ink has already been spilt dissecting and analyzing the horrible night a Stanford athlete was caught raping an unconscious woman behind a dumpster. The statement of Turner’s victim has shaken a nation of young adults and likely their parents, particularly for the atrocious leniency shown to Turner the court. Faced with 14 years in prison, he was sentenced to six months in jail and three years of probation.
Barely out of high school, this young man’s name is forever ruined. I have no doubt that a childhood infected by pornography led to this young man’s downfall. Verily Magazine wrote a great article naming this fact—that undressing and assaulting a young woman’s limp body is not normal. He learned this behavior from somewhere.

We need to pray for courage in preaching a consistent message of love that calls people out of mere sexual exploitation and to greatness. Any porn provider that truly wanted to change the conversation would boldly shut their doors. Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever!
